How Not to Be Political?
No more political poems?
Because,
No more political poems because;
Because, be-cause
I become a caustic monster
For causes which cause dissent.
Can’t pay the rent if I vent
Ventriloquist spouting fountains of rhetoric
Eric C. sings Lay Lady Lay on your big fat bed of
Bedouin’s oil money. Be doing’ this, all this,
To that sad song”the mirth of humanity”.
What isn’t a political poem?
What is political?
Policing polite well almost polite veneers,
Covering sneers that peer in the well of empty.
Pre emptied by right or left, red or blue.
Maybe rainbows are non political poems.
Is courage political?
Why not political?
How not to be political?
You cowards?
Have you dared to be political?
I wasn’t political living in UK, Greece, NYC and Philly
I was exploring personalizing not realizing I was a micro minimizing my bond to the macrocosm !
Cousins on this earth now with all the Carbondale cows,
I too moo and boo to policies policing harm!
Back to the barn of ahimsa to tend to mend not to bend rules!
For fools who like wiggle rooms; haggling away honor this day trying to sway hearts by the bind of the mind.
I am numb, I am blinded to potential, to un mined participating, because,
Because of caustic habituations slide and grind.
Cry! Mine the divine, the terroir of grand cru wine.
Poured thru me over me, marinating in vats ;
Of politics love and time. ~ Alya Dec 2016
